Growing up my dad worked hard to make sure our family was
taken care of. We may not have had everything but I never
remember wanting for anything.
In August of 1990 he got Pneumonia and was hospitalized
during that hospital stay he was diagnosed with COPD. This
was life changing diagnosis for him as he now required to be
oxygen 24/7. He retired from his job and we were lucky that
we did not loose him then. We have so far been blessed with
12.5 years of having him with us. Recently he was
hospitalized again with Pneumonia. This hospitalization
resulted in the diagnosis of Stage 3 Squamous Cell Carcinoma
of the lung. This diagnosis again has rocked our world
upside down.
My dad is a wonderful man. He has always been full of
life and full of stories. There is nothing I love more than
to sit and listen to his stories of growing up on the farm
with 5 sisters.
He and my mom have been married 43 years and were
blessed with 3 kids. 2 girls and boy, they have blessed him
with 10 wonderful grandkids. 6 boys and 4 girls.
His hobbies include fishing, 4 wheeling camping and just
spending time with family.
