Sasha was born 4 weeks early fighting for her life...and
the fight has never stopped.
She has had many serious infections and medical crisis's and
has struggled with finding a level of stability and wellness
off and on her whole life.
She receives weekly infusions of blood product pooled from
thousands of donors in order to stave off life threatening
infections due to her immune deficiency.
Sasha also has seizures, episodic ataxia type 2 with familial
hemiplegic migraine, and her body often does not regulate
itself properly, just like her brother,
This year, Sasha has had to adjust to a lot of new
medications, being put on oxygen, and lots of medical
interventions that have really been tough on her.
Despite it all, she is fierce yet full of flowers and
sunshine. She has a smile that can light up your world and
her courage and strength rivals no other.
Both children have just returned to school after having been
out since the start of Christmas Break in 2012 due to their
medically fragile states. It has been a huge adjustment
returning to school but one that we embrace with excitement
and hope that they can continue to share time at school with
their peers for the entire school year ahead.
Comments: Sasha likes stuffed animals, Pokemon, bugs, arts and
crafts, playing dress up, music, reading, playing her iPad.
